You'll find Tatter Jack Walsh on Page 37 of O'Neill's Dance Music of Ireland (the 1001 gems book). Interestingly the title is a corruption of the Irish " an tAthair Jack Walsh" as the individual referred to was the clergyman Father Jack Walsh.

Interesting. I heard that 'Tatter Jack' was an Anglo-Irish slang term for a peasant. I prefer your theory.
