TG4 Awards

TG4 Awards

Really enjoyed the show - despite the numerous re-takes.
Good craic back in the castletroy hotel after...didn't want to leave! ...the free bar may have had something to do with it...
Nice session too.
Its on the telly tomorrow night for anyone who didn't know...
Were any of ye at it?

Re: TG4 Awards

I was at it last night. The re-takes where a nightmare...the host was a good laugh. The chieftians where the best on the night I thought. What did you think of the dancers?

Re: TG4 Awards

Will the show be accessible on the mighty Internet - so we non-irish will be able to enjoy it??

Re: TG4 Awards

I was at both the show and the Hotel and thought both were brilliant! Hard to pick out the best performance but i enjoyed Mary Bergin and also the two Gerry's!! I made it back to my room at 6am and the music was still goin!

Re: TG4 Awards

Couldn't really see the dancers' feet but their top halves looked good...especially that little fella on the springs!
Thought he was goin to take off out over the audience at one stage!
Yeah, yer man Paidi knew how to warm up the crowd.
Dunno if you can watch it on the net...maybe if you check out the website... www.tg4.ie
Highlights? Lunasa (the sound was spot on) and Sean Keane.
Had a very drunken conversation with Gerry fiddle about how fiddles are like women or somethin along those lines...we'll never know!

Re: TG4 Awards

Did anyone notice or was it me that Sean Keane looked very bitter at the awards? He was probably 50% drunk.

Re: TG4 Awards

I thought Sean Keane was very nervous looking but in great form later, when he joined the session!!!! Did anyone see his award? An amazing work of art!

Re: TG4 Awards

He's an excellent fiddle player I'll definitely give that. How many banjo players where at the hotel after the concert was over?

Re: TG4 Awards

There were only two banjo players (who were very good) actually playing in the session. I think there may have been a few more (including Gerry O'Connor) who kept their instruments firmly locked up!!!
