.abc Question

.abc Question

Help!!
Does anyone know of a way of combining lots of separate .abc files into a consolidated file, apart from cutting and pasting individually.

I'm sure there must be a way, but I haven't been able to do it.

I'm slowly drowning under hundreds of .abcs and haven't got the time to cut and paste individually :-(

Re: .abc Question

copy *.abc alltunes.abc

will produce one large file of all files in that directory

Re: .abc Question

When you're doing that exercise try and ensure that each abc file ends with a paragraph marker, otherwise you'll be finding that one abc file runs straight into the title line of the next one. The resulting mess of text can takes ages to sort out! Also, try to ensure that each line of the "admin" part of the abc (i.e. the X:, T:, M:, L:, K:, R: lines) ends with an EOL (end-of-line) marker or paragraph marker, for the same reason.

Re: .abc Question

If you invest in a program such as ABC2Win, you can make up or compile files with a number of individual ABCs or have separate files for individual ABCs, if you so desire.
