Anyone heard of Footerin Aboot?

Anyone heard of Footerin Aboot?

I've heard there is an excellent north east ceilidh band called Footerin Aboot. Would love them to come and play at my wedding. Wondering wheather anyone has heard of how to get in touch?

Re: Anyone heard of Footerin Aboot?

Great expression that. As one of my superiors in a previous job said to me once "You don't call that "footering aboot" that you do "work", surely" :-) Nowadays, I just "footer aboot" trying to play music. It's much more fun.

Re your original query, perhaps Bren or Kenny might be able to help. They'll ken maist o' the loons and quines from up that way.

Try http://www.tmsa.org.uk/events/tmsa-events.asp?eventID=121&eventcontactID=95
- not sure if the contact info refers to the band or the hotel where they are playing, but either way you should be able to get the band.

Monty10, I have contact details for the band, drop me an e-mail and I'll send on your details. How did you hear of them? I'm sure they'd like to know.

Re: Anyone heard of Footerin Aboot?

As John J guessed, I know Brian Gilligan (excellent banjo and mandolin player .... the bastard!) and I think I know who the rest of the guys are. The reason I'm a bit vague is because there are so many musicians around here who get together for pick-up Ceilidh bands in different combinations. Brian's played in a few different combinations since moving to Aberdeen, I think Footerin' Aboot is the one with Chris the fiddler who goes to Uni in Newcastle. Or maybe Sandy Leggat was in it too. They're all good players who know how to make a ceilidh jump.
As clunk999 says, I'm sure they'd be delighted to hear from you
