Is anybody else having trouble with the global search function that's tucked away behind the home page? This is the error message I get where the results would normally be listed:
Fatal error: Uncaught SoapFault exception: [SOAP-ENV:Client] SOAP-ERROR: Encoding: string '4A36Hr1QFHKmoUkS6e81fACRhaFG630Y' is not a valid utf-8 string in /usr/home/thesess/public_html/includes/googleSearch.php:38 Stack trace: #0 /usr/home/thesess/public_html/index/search.php(9): googleSearch('doGoogleSearch', Array) #1 /usr/home/thesess/public_html/index.php(22): include('/usr/home/these...') #2 {main} thrown in /usr/home/thesess/public_html/includes/googleSearch.php on line 38
Yeah, sorry about that. You can blame the web hosts who upgraded to PHP 5.0.1 which turns out to be buggy when it comes to trying to do web services (like Google's).
As soon as a new version of PHP is released, this should be fixed.
As you can imagine, I'm not very pleased about this and I apologize for the inconvenience.
Oh, well, it isn't really that much trouble to go to google and do it myself, I was just hoping somebody would be able to tell me I had my Windows settings wrong or something.
Thanks for the explanation. You certainly do a lot to keep this site running.
