Movie tunes?

Movie tunes?

Hi all!

I just got done watching Master and Commander. I really enjoyed it for lots of reasons, but one of the big ones was the music. Does anyone know the name(s) of the tunes the seamen are playing when they're all dancing on deck. They may not be strict ITM but they're catchy and I'd like to know.

Thanks
beck

Re: Movie tunes?

O'Sullivan's March was used fairly extensively I think:

Re: Movie tunes?

Hi Beck,

Jeremy's right about O'Sullivan's March.

The Cuckold Comes Out of the Amery is a stand-alone piece, and the rest of the folk music is a medley of O'Sullivan's March/The Cuckold Comes Out of the Amery/Mother Hen/Mary Scott/Nancy Dawson.

(Mother Hen, BTW, elsewhere on this site is a.k.a The Irish Waterman ;-)

Re: Movie tunes?

M and C plays the first two parts of O'Sullivan's march, but not the third.

Re: Movie tunes?

The Cello piece that is played a couple of times in the movie is the prelude to one of the Bach Cello Suites.

Re: Movie tunes?

I'm glad someone opened this thread (I was too shy). The tune that really interested me was the cheeky little thing that they played at the end of the film Any ideas what it is please?
