CCE American Tour

CCE American Tour

The Echoes of Erin Tour starts next week in Mineola (New York) - full details on venues are shown at http://www.comhaltas.com/concert/us-venues.htm. There's some great players in the group including Joey Doyle (a mighty young Dublin flute and pipes player), Oliver Deveney (last year's All-Ireland champion box player), Edel Fox (a nice concertina player from miltown Malbay). The Daddy of them all though is Brendan McGlinchey Armagh fiddler and composer - hopefully he'll play "Splendid Isolation". If not ye'll have to try and get him to play it during one of the sessions which usually follow the concert.

You folks in America have all the fun. What about us down in Australia?

Re: CCE American Tour

A kind of off-the-wall question: was the accordian player for Teada previously on a CCE America tour? I feel like I recognize him from somewhere and that jumped to mind.

Re: CCE American Tour

I believe Emily and I saw Joey Doyle perform at the FKW this past winter in Donegal. If he's the red-haired young man I'm thinking of, then yes, he's fantastic! I would consider driving to Waltham Mass to see him play again. And I'm so glad I got his concert performance down on mini disk (or whoever that amazing flute player was). Priceless!

Re: CCE American Tour

Yes joyce that's Joey - he's also great on the uilleann pipes though I don't know if he'll be taking them with him on the tour. the story gets better as the concertina player from Clare, Edel fox, was named young traditional musician of the year by our irish TV station (TG4)today! Enjoy the concert.
