I'm leaving for London tomorrow from Denmark, and I'd love to find a session there. I've seen the previous posting on the trad London session, but I'd like to be sure of there being a session when I come
Is the session in "Molly Malone's" Richmond on Tuesday on, and what is the address?
Also it says on the "Hobgoblin" web-site that there is a session in "South Kensington Somewhere" - Tues/Weds hosted by Mick O'Connor. I wonder where that is?
Thanks in advance for any information!

The Molly Malone's session is hosted by Mick O'Connor on Tuesdays, from about 9.00pm. It is situated on the Kew Road, Richmond. I don't know the number, but it is st the southern end of Kew road, just before the roundabout, if you are travelling from the North (on the 65 bus route, and close to Richmond Station).
As for the South Kensington session, Mick O'Connor does have the reputation of ubiquity, but surely he couldn't be playing two sessions at once, could he? If you come to Malone's, you can ask him about that.
Ironic as it sounds, some sessions will be cancelled for Paddy's Day, to allow for the increased number of punters and perhaps more 'gig'-type entertainment. I know of one that is going on, at McGoverns on Cricklewood Broadway, starting about 6pm.
You don't say how long you are in London for or whereabouts you are staying. But I can tell you all I know. On Sundays (not St. Patrick's), from 4-7pm there is a session at Powers, with Sean Casey (son of Bobby) , on Kilburn High Road, near Kilburn tube and Brondesbury overground station - as well as McGoverns in Cricklewood (as above), which is about a 20 minute walk away. At about the same time (from 4pm) on Sundays is The Porterhouse, Maiden Lane, near Leicester Square and Charing Cross tube. On Monday nights, the Hershell Arms, Slough (train from Paddington - out of town, but reputedly very good).
On Tuesdays, Molly Malones, as mentioned. If you're out East, there's the White Horse, Cambridge Heath Rd., Bethnal Green. It tends to start about 10pm, and run on into the small hours. For more of a trad/folk/bluegrass mix, the Dukes Head, The Vineyard, Richmond, also on a Tuesday.
On Wednesday's Mick O'Connor hosts a session at The Cardinal Wolsey, Hampton Court Rd., near Hampton Court Bridge). On Thursdays about 9pm, Captain Morgans, Greenford Road, North Greenford, near the junction with Horsenden La. North and Oldfield La. North. Also, Captain Morgans (same owner, different pub), High St., Brentford, near Kew Bridge, and The Cricketers, Northwold Rd., Stoke Newington, with Brendan Power (Harmonica).
On Fridays, Auntie Annie's Porterhouse, Kentish Town Rd, near Kentish Town tube.
I can't think of any Saturday sessions at the moment. There are many more than I have mentioned, but bein a West London, most are awkward for me to get to and from.
Hi David,
Thanks for the quick reply, I really appreciate it. I'm in London from Monday to Saturday so I think I'll opt for the Tuesday session on Molly Malone's, hope to see you there!
