Click on live videos and go to the sunday bit, and you'll find a 45min gig that the big McGoldrick band did at Cambridge a couple of weekends ago. Its a total blinder!! The band are well on form and the quality is like tv and the sound qualities fantastic! Check out Parv on the indian drums-amazing!! Not sure if the same can be said for Ewen Vernals hat though....but I've been led to believe he was wearing it as a joke...thank god!
B*gger - have they taken the link down? I went to the page you linked to, clicked on "Watch videos" in the top centre box, then on Sunday, then on Mike's link, but it gave me a "this page does not exist" 404 type page.
Do you have a direct url for it? I'd hate to miss this!
I have a question to ask. It isn't about Mc Goldrick but about the Manchester Festival where he plays I believe.
I’m looking for the name of three reels played during the feature of “listen again” from the Celtic connection (it's about this festival) http://www.bbc.co.uk/scotland/radioscotland/view/show.shtml?celtic_connections
Before the end of this feature of the Manchester Festival there are three reels and I look for the name of them. It begins at this time : 02:31:05 There are fiddlers who play.
The second one must be the Graf Spee
Please, can anybody help meto find the first and the last ?
Nice gig. Ever noticed how there's always a couple of guys shouting "Go on John Joe!" wherever he plays? If he wasn't such a great bodhran player, I'd swear he takes them with him and sticks them in the audience wherever he goes.
