I have a Johnson resonator mandolin. Great sound, nice playability, but I wouldn't recommend it for this type of music, too much sustain. All the notes tend to ring together and the tune turns to mush.
thanks for your reply saw one last saturday night for the first time a guy from berlin was playing it at a session and he gave me a go i was really impressed very comfortable havent come across them in ireland
