Session "Host"

Re: Session "Host"

Yes, it’s like session leader. Host just sounds a little less authoritative, and it's friendlier to us hippies and tree huggers. Now... when do I get my crate of oranges?

Re: Session "Host"

Depends -- I'll use "session host" to mean the hosting pub or venue, entirely separate from the session leader...especially if there's a tab.

Re: Session "Host"

You're thinking of a "no-host-bar," Zina. Unfortunately that's what we get at our session.

Re: Session "Host"

Well, I suppose I could be thinking of a no-host bar, but I *thought* that I was thinking of a session host, as in a pub owner that was hosting a session, Jack. I suppose you could be right about what I was thinking instead of me knowing what I was thinking... *smirk*

Re: Session "Host"

I *was* doing homework (summer AP work...I know, I know...), but I truly don't think I have any brain capacity left after reading this thread. My cerebellum is all twisted around my temporal lobe ;-).

Re: Session "Host"

I'm generally asked to host sessions ie buy the beer for the musos all night. Someone has unkindly suggested that they do this so as I'll have to spend most of the evening ordering complicated rounds at the bar instead of playing my lambeg and foghorn.
I have dismissed that suggestion with the derision it deserves.

Re: Session "Host"

Joe, Buy enough rounds, and they might welcome the Lambeg and 'horn.

(Works with my 1812 overture-cannon of a bodhran)
