Session T-Shirt Sizes

Session T-Shirt Sizes

Hallo All
Dead keen to purchase session.org T-shirt... however - having major dilemma as to the sizes. Can anyone translate the sizes (S, M, L etc) into inches round chest? (Hopefully for both the mens and womens sizes.)
I would usually buy a UK size XL t-shirt so it was nice and baggy - but I've heard rumours of US sizing being very generous and want to avoid ordering a small tent.
There doesn't appear to be a sizing guide on the website.
Cheers All
Sandra

Re: Session T-Shirt Sizes

That's actually a very difficult question to answer, Sandra -- sizes vary in measurement by company, not the least because each company decides on it's own the "ease" (or extra measurement for wearing comfort) that is their "official" fit. It will all depend on what company makes the t-shirts. But here's an approximation, coming from Van Heusen's size charts from a couple years back:

Men (neck/sleeve)

S 14.5/32-33
M 15.5/32-33
L 16.5/34-35
XL 17.5/34-35
2x 18.5/34-35
3X 19.5/34-35

Women (American size)

S 6-8
M 10-12
L 14-16
XL 18-20

Certain companies, especially the "hip" companies like bella and American Apparel, have lines that have very little ease (American's Classic Girl is known for it's form-fitting fit and they go after the cheer market in a big way these days). Other companies, like Badger, Gildan, Fruit of the Loom, and Jerzees, have a much larger ease factor.

So it'll just depend on the company.

If you really want to make sure, I'd write the company selling our t-shirts and ask for a size chart.

Re: Session T-Shirt Sizes

My sesh.org t-shirt came last week. (I ordered the basic t-shirt because it comes in gold--remarkably close in hue to the background here.) It's a Hanes Beefy T, and the size Large is fit for 42-44. It fits me fine in the shoulders, but seems a bit 'full' further down. So they run a little oversized, is my guess. Decent quality t-shirt though, and the logo looks great against the golden background.

Re: Session T-Shirt Sizes

Well, I was afraid of that...but maybe you can get the idea from that? Those are the measurements for the Beefy Ts...

Re: Session T-Shirt Sizes

Err... the first column of numbers is the measurement of the actual garment around the chest. The second column is centimeters around the chest. The third column is the chest measurement it's meant to fit, and the fourth column is the same in centimeters. :)

Re: Session T-Shirt Sizes

Zina - thanks very much for that... and the explanation of the columns... - to many numbers confused me for a moment. Hopefully I'll manage to order the right one first time.
Will - my pal Fi ordered the L ladies fitted and it was certainly large. Somewhat baggy she thinks. so I guess you're not alone.

Fingers crossed and wish me luck - I'm going to order one right now.

Re: Session T-Shirt Sizes

If you wash (and dry it), it will shrink. :)

Re: Session T-Shirt Sizes

Did anyone get the polo? I want to wear it to work so..., I'm, ah...in between sizes... medium in a Lands Ends, large in some others. Something about large wetted area allows more streamlining while riding a bike....

Re: Session T-Shirt Sizes

Nope, mine's been through the cycle and it didn't shrink (or I lost weight while it was doing the rounds :o).

Well, you're supposed to take it off first, Will.
