Hey there guyz, I was just wondering if any one would be able to tell me the names of the Charlie Lennon tunes on this great website (if any!!?). I now a few of his e.g. The Knigs of Inniosbofin (SPELLING?) and The Handsome young maidens which I love and am intrested in learning some more of these fantastic compositions.
I also love his compositions. But as far as I know, most of his compositions are almost unplayable on the keyless D flute or whistle. Does anybody know any flute- or whistle-friendly composition penned by Charlie? Unfortunately, it seems great tune Charlie's Buttermilk Mary is not his composition.
Is anyone sure whether Charlie L minds his tunes being posted on the website. Maybe it might affect sales of his books of tunes. Then again he might be thrilled. But it might be nice to ask for his approval if anyone has a way of conctacting him.
Also - posted recently by me, unknowingly in the more flute-friendly key of D - "Sailing In" - Mr. Lennon is a true genius! And yes, if you can get hold of it, I strongly recommend his book of compositions.
Get yerself a copy of "Musical Memories" - most of the tunes listed above are included as well as many other gems. The anecdotes provided about the tunes are well worth the price of admission.
Request for Charlie Lennon Tunes???

Re: Request for Charlie Lennon Tunes???
"The Moving Pint" is flute friendly and it's a great tune, so is "The Twelve Pins".
