(Fiddles) Made in Shetland

(Fiddles) Made in Shetland

Nice wee programme just been on BBC Radio 4. Some nice tunes played, nicely played... nice insight into the scene up there...lovely accents!

Great little show - is it the Golden Keyboard we can hear at the opening?

Re: (Fiddles) Made in Shetland

Thanks Cath - no, not the Golden Keyboard - but it's like it - a kinda mixed up Shetland version!

The accents fine when you can understand us!

Re: (Fiddles) Made in Shetland

It thought it was a shame there wasn't more old Shetland music.

Sorry for cheering everyone up like that.

Re: (Fiddles) Made in Shetland

I'm getting a program about bicycles! Will try to listen live, it's on for 15min at 15.45 eachday this week.

Re: (Fiddles) Made in Shetland

yeah - I just tried it & it's now about bikes. I know they change the Shetland one on a weekly basis, so Auntie at the Beeb must have her knickers in a twist.

Sorry 'bout that!

Re: (Fiddles) Made in Shetland

I was lucky to catch it last night then. The tunes in fact sounded rather Irish.
The accent was quite soft actually and certainly very easy to understand.
Maybe the BBC'll do one show on 'air' instrumentalists, with live extracts
