Just joined up and thought i'd say hallo.....hallo.
My name's Erin and I'm based in SE Queensland, Australia.I may know some of you through the scene here but I'm kinda new to trad. playing. i've been playing percussion and kit for years but have only come at the bodhran in the last 7-8 months really. so be kind! I sing a little as well.
G'day.
Hello, Erin! Welcome to The Session. I hope that you have a thick skin; it's no use being a thin-skinned bodhran player! ;) It could be worse though, you could have picked up the banjo. Heh. Look forward to reading your posts!
snicker. That's the same concept as "what's the difference between a 3 ring circus and a whorehouse" but I'm afraid the punchline is unprintable. Welcome to the session Erin.
Welcome Erin to the Session. My significant other is a bodhran player and these guys on the Session don't really mean anything bad they say about bodhran players. Sure its the only thing that keeps them playing at a steady pace, otherwise they'd run away with themselves!
cheers
deirdre
Okay, then - what's the difference between a bodhran and a trampoline? - You take your shoes off to jump on a trampoline.
(To be fair, that started life as a banjo joke.)
what a swathe of sweet welcoming. tanks a million.
loved the story and support deffgoat. nothing bites as hard as a dead goat with cash. not quite an old wives tale but in 150 years who knows.
and crannog, my virtual hat's off to yer. cheers mate.
and a good couple of gags speshly the one from geoff.
heres one for the singers (are there any here!):
Q:how can you tell there's a singer @ the door?
A:they come in late and don't have the right key.
