I'm searching for two Irish musicians in order to obtain permisison to print their tunes. The first is Attracta Brady. I don't know a lot about her. She may play the flute. She may be the daughter of flute player John Brady. I believe she lives in Ireland.
I think Attracta composed an A Reel, Siobhan O'Donnell's. It has been a long road to find out that much. If anyone has contact info for her or knows someone who might know, could you send details to me? Contact info for John Brady would also be useful.
The second person I am looking for is Brian Ryan, son of Sean Ryan. If anyone knows how to reach him, could you send me the info at the address above?
By the way, I posted some tune/composer queries on this site last winter. I was able to locate nearly everyone you identified (or their estate). It was a gratifying experience. Thanks again for your help.
Presumably you are the Susan Songer who was involved with the first Portland Collection book /CD, which I make frequent use of. If you are the same Susan Songer, I hope you are successful in finding the musicains, so you can produce another collection, I certainly will purchase it. Good luck.
I believe Attracta Brady may still be active in Comhaltas. You could ask them for help in contacting her. I have the Comhaltas publication of John Brady's tunes, which coincidentally, I was looking at last night. There may be an address for him in the book - I'll check tonight, unless someone can do it before me.
Attracta Brady is from Offaly I think around Kilcormac or somewhere like that. I am sure if you contacted someone from one of the comhaltas branches there you would be able to get in contact with her.
