Banjo blatantly stolen / Galway

Banjo blatantly stolen / Galway

Approx April 3rd, three Saturdays ago, around 1am. A banjo + case was blatantly stolen from outside Monroes in Galway. They were with a number of other instruments resting against the wall of the pub. On turning back from a conversation, the banjo was gone. It could have been mistaken for a guitar! but wasn't dumped anywhere near the scene. There have been searches.

The banjo is not in the best nick and the back is not on it. The owner is Kieran Fletcher & the banjo is of GREAT sentimental value to him. Any information can be sent to jdcorcra@hotmail.com or to meself at this site or Mill St. Garda Station, Galway.

JD have you any more info on the banjo, like who made it? The chances are that if someone is serious about selling it or even playing it they'll get it repaired; it may be in better nick when it next sees the light of day.

BTW, off topic I've got a Rohan Young as well - he's me mate!

Nice one Conan, haven't met Rohan as yet but plan to head to Belfast soon enough, perfectly-dodecathederal.

Not sure who made the banjo but i'd say it was made in the north. He had it for around 10 years.

Stolen banjo.

I saw a notice on the site about Ciaran Fletchers banjo which was stolen. For those who are interested in keeping an eye out for it;its a Framus made banjo but is very distinct because the neck has been replaced with a Clareen neck. The back is off the banjo and there is a "quick-draw" capo on the banjo. The case is a new soft case with straps for carrying it on your back-its navyblue/black and green.Any information anyone might have on it, contact me @ conormccague@hotmail.com.
