Re: tunes in glasgow similar to dublin?

Is this a tricky way around asking where the sessions are? :>))
I think most of the places are listed in the section.
You'll find a lot of Irish music in Glasgow and Scotland in general. Also, Scottish music, of course. There's lots of crazy alcoholic scots girls too. You don't even have to be Irish or play the fiddle.

Both irish and scottish.
The Ben Nevis holds a good session on sundays and wednesdays, starts 2100 approx. then theres the park bar session on a thursday, quieter and more scottish but certainly a top class pub. at the weekends, live music in the park bar and islay inn, (both on argyll st) each part of the cheuchter triangle, a definate dont miss for any irishman in glasgow. leave the fiddle in at the wknd an go for the snifter of port
slainte!

Well, there are a few more.......Babbity Bowsters, on Blackfriars st. Saturday from about 4.30pm....mix of scottish & irish.

Victoria Bar on Stockwell Street, on Fridays 9pm.......definately a irish session, Waxy O'Conners at george square, sundays 4.30pm mix of scottish & irish.

If your looking for alcohol crazed young fiddle playing women, Ben Nevis Bar, or Waxy's is your best bet.....trust me I know them! although it is the easter holidays just now!

What's the Ben Nevis like on a Tuesday?
Or the Lismore on a Monday or Tuesday?

"alcohol crazed young fiddle playing women"?

You're confusing Glasgow with Aberdeen!!

Sharkey's.

It's still there and going isn't it?

Hope so anyway. As I understand this session, started up by the late Jimmy McHugh, is still going on...or so I was led to believe, from my last call over to Glasgow...maybe it's passed on?
