Mance Grady Bodhrans

Mance Grady Bodhrans

I don't know if any of you are familiar with Mance Grady Bodhrans, but in the small state of Rhode Island, there's hardly anyone else to turn to nearby. I'm growing tired of playing my old student model, and I'm looking for an upgrade. I've done a lot of reading, and supposedly Mance's Bodhrans are quite good. I've had the pleasure of playing one, also, and it was very good indeed. Can any of you offer any advice on his bodhrans? Thanks!

Re: Mance Grady Bodhrans

I don't know anything about Mance Grady Bodhrans, but your best bet for a good quality bodhran at an affordable price is that of Seamus O Kane.
www.tradcentre.com/seamus. I know a lot of people who play his bodhrans and are more than happy with them, but there may be a very big waiting list for them because they are hugely popular.
Hope that helps
John

Re: Mance Grady Bodhrans

I have to cast a vote for Seamus O'Kane as well. I have a bodhran made by him and I would not take $1000 for it (only paid

Re: Mance Grady Bodhrans

Someone at a session at the Irish Arts week in the Catskills had a Grady bodhran. He let me try it and I liked it as much if not better than the alfonso bodhrans we were using in the workshop.
