The awards will take place at UCH UL Limerick on Sat March 24th
Broadcast will be on TG4 at 21.30 April 8th Easter Sunday
Nice t o see Paddy O''Brien in there, though when I told Herself I was going to drop for this 12,000 hour collection of every tune ever written which was issued last year I think, she reminded me of the need for a new washing machine, and any number of repairs to the family farm!
yeah, paddy! "the policeman's request"!!!! his tune collection, btw, is one of the most gorgeous traditional irish box recordings ever.....not usually thought of from that angle, but it ought to be. within the last year alone, paddy has made what imho are his two most beautiful recordings, with playing at a lovely relaxed swing-filled pace....one is called "the jug of punch". i can't recall the title of the other one, but they're both exquisite....
