I am trying out that wee old software program ' abcfind ' But cannot get a ABC Player to run with it to play the music . Anyone here know one that open's with it ? My Abc Navigator is not one of them, and I tried other's.

It appears to only be an editor. In the setup instructions there are two recommendations. The first is ABCmus; http://www.norbeck.nu/abcmus/
The other one doesn't seem to be available online, ABCplay.
"If you only want to hear abc tunes played through your sound system, then you should download and install either ABCmus from Henrik Norbeck's site or ABCplay from Bernard Chenery's site. Both of these programs allow you to edit the text of the abc file to change notes etc. Instructions for installation of these programs can be found on the authors' web sites."
Don't know "abcfind", but when I upgraded to Mac OSX 'Lion' - and my "Barfly' stopped working, I discovered "EasyABC"
(A freeware / open source program)
Its become my favourite player /editor. I now also run the windows version on a PC (I used to use "ABCedit")
It seems to cope well with most abc files, and enables easy 'interactive' editing (i.e. you can edit the abc text, and instantly see the score revision + hear the result. I recommend you least give it a look / try.
Col Arco, I sat down to download EasyABC, expecting to struggle with it, but it popped right into easy workable mode on my macbook pro running snow leopard. it was amazing, easy and intuitive, even for me. thank you! jim, have you tried it?

When you find a tune in abcfind just copy and paste the tune into ABC Navigator and play it there. Also means it is added to your tunes archive within Navigator.
You could probably do the same with EasyABC

Yes, Easy ABC is not a bad program,but did not work with abcfind.
so I dumped abcfind and I am now trying ABCexplorer.
Many Think's all !
