Web Site for Musicians in U.S.

Web Site for Musicians in U.S.

If anyone's interested in joining tribes.net, there is now a "tribe" for Irish/Celtic folk musicians. It's a discussion forum much like this, but with a few more features (and maybe a few less...a give and take...).

The site is based in the San Francisco Bay area, so most of the users are from the U.S. But I suppose anyone can join. It's a brand new "tribe" so I thought I'd post something about it here to get it going... and hopefully a few more people, who are only on tribe.net will find thesession.org as well...

I see that it's for Irish and Celtic (whatever they are)musicians. It also say says that I'm a "roots" musician because I play Scottish music etc. Does a "roots" musician use a carrot to thump his bodhran? :>))

Sorry, Greg. Only having a laugh. Seem like an interesting and useful site.

Re: Web Site for Musicians in U.S.

haha...that would be a "tap"-root musician.......okay, sorry...botanist joke.... I just wrote "roots" so as not to scare off any ulta-traditionalists/purists. There are some, including myself that also like to throw in some modern musical elements, or mixed genres, at times....given the proper setting... That's what I meant by roots...hm...perhaps there's a better term for what I mean...

Irish and "Celtic"...I just used those words to increase the chances of someone finding the "tribe" when they do a search on tribe.net. ...had to think of everything... ;-)

It's ok. I'm only joking. We've had long discussions about this sort of thing before. :>))
