I'm saving for a flute! Yay!

I'm saving for a flute! Yay!

I've decided to save for a delrin Copley and Boegli keyless. Their sound-clip sounds just like a trady woody one to my ears. This company appear to have got something very right with their design. Anybody else have one?

Great flute for the money. I have one in D and one in C. Both have great sound, good volume, and are in good tune.
Go for it.

I shall! Is there any point in getting one with the metal rings? I can't imagine there would be the swelling issues you'd get with wood, so I'm tempted to save the money.

Good choice. I have one in C and another in D.
Great flutes and I'd recommend them.
Silver rings add a little class- I have a friend who has now without th rings and it looks a tad too plain - in my opinion.

I have one with silver rings, the elliptical embouchure cut, and a C-nat thumbhole. I recommend the two latter just because they make it work better and the former 'cause it makes it look better. I have to use it on a big gig this last summer when my main flute got too hot and the liner separated from the head. It was nice to have a flute that looks nice to play in front of lots of people. I think the rings are worth the little extra they cost. Also, Dave doesn't charge anything extra for the elliptical cut or the C-nat hole.
