Since I'm possibly the only one sitting at home watching "The Guns of Navarone", instead of being at or contemplating going to a New Year session, and having already consumed far too much Guinness, I thought it opportune to wish one and all here on the Mustard Board a very
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
with my very Best Wishes for a prosperous 2012, when I hope to catch up with our session friends, old and new.
There is supposed to be a session tomorrow afternoon at the Hibernia Irish Tavern here but my wife wants me to go with to a friend's house for a New Year's Day party tomorrow afternoon. I guess I will just have to risk her wrath by leaving the party early to go the Hibernia session.
< consumed far too much Guinness > I like it - lol...
Well I came home early today 8:00 pm .. don't want to mess up tomorrow New years day session, better time to have it I think, less noise and Madness-- But !
Happy New Year to all our readers... Saw in the New Year at home for a change. My youngest son has just reminded me that if he lives as long as me he will reach my age in 2063. Now there's a thought ...........!
I’ll mutter the incantations, aye and write them too if it increases their chances of coming true: best wishes to all for a happy, peaceful and prosperous New Year!
My wife and I ended the old year with a session. Good friends and music are such a delight. All the best to all my musical friends and acquaintances in cyberspace.
Just because the planet earth has and will continue to orbit around the sun, spinning on its own axis 365.25 times, and will continue to support carbon-based life-forms, including 7 billion of the species Homo sapiens. Why the aforementioned species chooses to herald another such orbit by imbibing colossal quantities of ethanol is one of the great mysteries of the universe...and appears especially mysterious to this observer at this moment...
...ouch me head!!

Imbibing colossal quantities of ethanol is one of the oldest known ways of *experiencing* the spinning of the Earth on its axis, something to which we are normally oblivious, save for its manifestation in the form of night and day. Cheaper methods are malaria and cryptic crosswords.
Happy New Year! (anyone?)

Or, if you want your head to feel as if it is spinning without needing to drink anything, you could go to a concert by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
