I have a fishman banjo pickup but i believe that its an older model because its circular on the top.I forget what i paid for it but its not working at the moment .Does anyone know anything about this model?Is it worth getting fixed or are the newer models much better?

I've had mine for about 10 years or so now and had very little problems with it. I'm assuming you have checked that the little metal shim hasn't moved off the inside of the skin.
yes its circular. As its a passive pickup the signal is quite weak and i use a pre amp. I gather the new ones are active and produce a stronger signal. I guess the decision to upgrade depends on how much it costs to get fixed

its not responding at all .Is yours also circular at the top?are they much the same as the new ones
