That probably depends on what instrument you are playing. On fiddle, box or whistle they're not - it takes hour of practice.
But on the Rolf Harris Stylophone they're dead easy - just quick doodle with the stylus that takes seconds to master, making this the ideal instrument for ITM. And the great news is that they've started making Stylophones again. I got one for Christmas, and am thinking of giving up the fiddle.

They are easy on all those instruments they can be done on. And they are impossible (I mean impossible, not very very very hard) on those instruments they can't be done on
