The Irish translator forum is generally not happy with the tattoo slogan requests they are at times flooded with. I don't think they honour those requests.
'Ceol me arse'? Actually a picture is worth a thousand or even three words, so maybe a bottle of Guinness or even just a bodhran .. that'll keep herself happy as well and you'll kill two birds with one stone etc.
I'm amused that there is no corroboration that either the OP or his lovely bodhran playing girlfriend is actually getting tatted. It was just a joke from the prof.

Wouldn't you have to shave the live goat tattooed first. Tattoo it,then kill it and make a drum of its hide for that to work? Once you've eaten the fresh curry goat of course.
Surely you can just PAINT a bodhran head. If you stuck in a tattoo needle in a drum head it would just make a hole- hang on a minute! I think we're on to something...
You could also add these processes to the sequence. You wouldn’t want to waste your goat would you?
1. The goat’s bladder would make a nice novelty hot water bottle for your collection.
2. Rendering down the bones may precipitate an individual wig glue base
3. The shavings could be fashioned into an unusual peruke totally suitable for the balding bodhranist
4. I don’t suppose you would use all this skin for the drum head, so the surplus could be made in a pair of trousers. You can never have enough pairs of trousers to change at a session.
5. Could you not carve a bugle out of the horns. Take some polishing though.
I see yaalhouse’s approach as a rebuff to the doubters, as the best proof I've seen lately that the Gifts of the Goats are indeed bounteous. Related to that, just because Goat Rib Xylophone was the opening band at the 1968 Isle of Wight Festival doesn’t mean the concept should belong to them alone, forevermore.

That could work to keep the skin nice and supple. Probably best done before you go to the session, though.
