Hi, I'm being sent on a course to Wasserburg arn Inn in Bovaria in late February. Does anybody know of any Irish sessions that happen in and around this area of Germany?
just noticed that nobody so far answered to this one. I won´t be of much help, I´m afraid, because I´m living on the North Sea coast (Dublin is closer from here than Munich!), but I didn´t want to leave the impression that no German took notice of your question. There are quite a few Germans around here, but I don´t know what parts they are from...
Don´t know what´s happening at the moment, usually Bavarians think they are a lot faster at everything (and better, of course!) than us northern lights (or "fishheads", as they like to call us, too). Maybe they are too busy with carnival...
I´ll try a few sites and links and see what I come up with.

Hallo, Landsleute!
Ist keiner aus Bayern dabei? Oder jemand, der sich da besser auskennt als ich?
Wär´ ja nun peinlich, wenn der entscheidende Tip ausgerechnet aus Ostfriesland käme... Oder nich´?
hi,
I'm sorry I don't know anything about sessions down in Bavaria, BUT: maybe something interesting for you folks out there round Oldenburg, Lower Saxony;
There's an Irish Folk Session on each and every tuesday in a pub called "Fiddler's Green". The idea of offering this open session is supported by the dutch group "RAPALJE" (www.rapalje.com) who let us use their song and tune material.
It would be great if some of you readers would be able to join us,
have fun,
Catleen
Hi Stacey,
I have a friend in Bavaria, I'll ask him about sessions and let you know.
Cathleen,
Do you know Alma? She is a friend of mine living in Oldenburg. She plays irish music with some friends. If you do know her: Sag ihr mal liebe Grüße von Irina

I forgot to ask: Is there anybody from around Dresden at The Session? I'd love to start a session here (or join a group of "kitchen musicians").

Try these three:

Kassel might be a bit far away, though.
