Just wondered if anyone has put music up on Spotify before and how you have found it. Our album has just been added (http://open.spotify.com/album/67Bo5FmbUbxJK7bDoAHd9r) so was wondering what other people's experiences were.
As music listeners habits seem to change so quickly. Spotify is still relatively new and yet it has quickly built a following.
BTW - Feel free to have a listen and let us know what you think of the album.
Yes I have an extensive spotify trad playlist, been using it for years, except for the ads. What I normally do is bump tracks on before they finish thus avoiding the dreaded ads
I had Spotify it was great fof getting a listen to how some of the Old players played there music.
But between Ad's and them cutting down you listening time - plus spyware,
I deleted it...
jim,,,
Ya I subscribed. No ads, no limits, and I can listen to all the music on my phone. Instead of buying albums from iTunes for 10 bucks each I just pay 10 per month. Of course I don't know how this effects the artists.
I presume subscribing wouldn't help with the Facebook and spyware problems.
Not much point in subscribing for me - I can't link my computers to my hi-fi the other side of the house and I'm not paying over a hundred pounds a year to sit at this box listening to music through monitor speakers. (People are willing to *pay* to listen to music at mobile phone quality? Good grief).
Listening to The Sands Family its a live CD made in Germany called Hope is in the Morning its very good . Ive had a Sands afternoon whilst working here on my computer. Have to say the "Hug" song is excellent, great lyrics.
Well my phone's speakers are actually very good, but usually I'm listening through headphones or external speakers (like in my car or through a stereo at work). It has basically replaced my iPod.
There is an alternative to Spotify called Grooveshark which is available in Ireland. It doesn't have very intrusive ads and does have a fair amount of trad music, if you search...

Traditional Music on Spotify
Hi all,

Re: Traditional Music on Spotify
The ads seem to have got worse, badly interfering with the user interface. And now we have Facebook crap to fight off as well.
Spyware is a feature I didn't know about. What is it and how do you deal with it?
I now treat Spotify as an absolute last resort if I can't find the music anywhere else.

Re: Traditional Music on Spotify
Of course you could always subscribe for a 5er a month - no ads then!
Sorry, Alistair I haven't tried putting music up there but I'll have a look at your offering.
