Please, if You want have a listen here...

Hello Friends,

I wish to let You know that Our trad. band named "Diaduit" has just released their first debut Album "A perdifiato nel bosco" ( Run for all ones's worth through the wood)
U can listen to a mix of our tunes here

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HkXUV0T6tsE

We are Italians (North-east, Near the Dolomites Mountains ) Our music belong to the French/ Breton and Irish Tradition we play original tunes composed by us and arranging some Trad. ones .
The line up is:
Me:Acoustic guitar
Luca Ventimiglia: French pipes, low and thin whistles, Tarota, Recorders.
Francesco chiarini: Fiddle and Piano
Giorgio Cassetta: Low and high recorders, English Horn, Oboe.

The band started their activity in 2009 and in 2010, we won a competition for emerging bands here in Italy at the Festival Folkest and get the opportunity to play there where big names of Folk Music have played (Altan, Chieftains, Enya and many others...) We use to get gigs in celtic festivals some pubs, and especially we play for groups and associations of dancers around Italy. Our tunes are made of Dances from french/Breton
Tradition as: Scottische, Rigoudoun, Circles Circassiens, Andro etc. And of course reels and Jigs, Airs etc.

Hope You enjoy our music and please let me know what You think ;-)

Re: Please, if You want have a listen here...

I enjoyed the promo, Angelo - very Italian :) And nicely put together. Just wondering about the band name - your punters in Italy must have to think pretty hard as to how to pronounce it. I suppose it keeps them on their toes.

@the wounded hussar, yes you are right hehe people use to ask us how to pronounce my irish friends has sent me a book on learning irish so i tried to find out how to pronounce, I asked to my band members if they would like to change the band's name but they didn't want, Hope to come in Ireland and get few gigs there so i will probably learn how to pronounce DIADUIT hehe
Is it right DIADUIT? or is it DiaDhuit?

Thanks again

Re: Please, if You want have a listen here...

Oh, maybe like Deea Gwitch - usually Dia Dhuit. Literally - God be with you to which you traditionally answer Dia's Muire dhuit - God & Mary be with you!

Myself, I'd prefer Conas tá tú - how are ye.

Id single out the Bouree 2 and the Sagre D' estate as standing out and requiring a second listen!
