Altan recorded it as The Three Merry Sisters of Fate on their Red Crow album (Last tune final track). But look at the comments section for that title which leads you this;

and the comment that it is related to the Merry Sisters of Fate and "Altan recorded it as John Doherty's version of the Merry Sisters of Fate on "Runaway Sunday."

Confused ? Well it's just all part of the colour that is the tradition.
