This clip brought a big smile to my face, the way Irish music should be played. Imagine if we could all transfer that "lilt" and lift that they get onto our instruments, music would be in a much better state!
Bless your little heart, Tony O'Rourke. After all the Celtic violin--well, not literally "all," I didn't have the constitution to sit through all of it--I really needed that last link.
the second clip has a rhythm that sounds to me to be dragging in certain places. Maybe it's that she's playing it perfectly even where my mind is expecting to hear it with swing and bounce?
One of the best clips on youtube?

Perhaps Celtic Violinist might want to watch this:
http://comhaltas.ie/music/detail/comhaltaslive_280_1_darren_mcgee_and_rosie_ferguson/
and see how it's really done, with ornamentation, and not to mention the fine piano accompaniment.

Grand lilting. I could dance to that very happily.

Thanks for sharing that, dinn2.
I do not know from traditional styles, but also like this one from CWATR:

Lovely dancing, and could you find a better fiddler?
(Disclaimer:The above reference to the fiddler in superlative terms is in no way intended to start up with anyone. Whew!
