The Session >> Discussions >> Farewell to Tchernobyl - Michel Ferry
I learned this fantastic reel by Michel Ferry a few years ago on the fiddle. Now I'm learning it on the mandolin and guitar. I love it! Since I can't play it in root position on the guitar, I capo'd up to the 5th fret and substitute hand positions from there. Does anybody have suggestions on how to cross pick the last line on the mandolin? It's quite challenging, especially up to speed.

I'm also looking for a recording of it by Mr Rodney Miller. Can't find it on Youtube or iTunes
"Does anybody have suggestions on how to cross pick the last line on the mandolin?" Celticagent - I'm not quite sure what you mean by 'cross-pick' here, but I would use strict up-down picking for that passage (the last 4 bars of the B-part?).
