In the recent 2011 Royal Dublin Society National Crafts Competition, my neighbor Martin Doyle took a first prize: MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS 1st Prize Martin Doyle Needless to say, he makes wonderful flutes.

A friend of mine has purchased several flutes from him. I love his keyless flutes, especially their simple designs. Of course they sound lovely.

Very cool. I've only had the opportunity to play one of his basic celtic model flutes, and it was simply wonderful. Found it in a music shop in St. Louis, and I should have bought it at the time.

Oddly enough, I will probably be selling my keyless Celtic Doyle when my "new" John Gallagher 8-key arrives...
