Ballyconnell has a cracking restaurant in the shape of Pól Ó D's, though it's only open Wed-Sat - excellent steaks too.

Yes, been to Pól Ó D's, great restaurant. Fairly pricey but worth it.
And another great place to eat is this in Belturbet - http://www.ireland-guide.com/establishment/international_fishing_centre.3116.html.
And another one from my county.....never been but they say it's very good. http://www.ireland-guide.com/establishment/watermill_restaurant.8975.html
The Watermill is tremendous, but let's not forget Cavan's finest - http://www.ireland-guide.com/establishment/macnean_house_and_restaurant.3118.html.
Well indeed it is the finest and not only in Cavan. Again the prices are high but the quality unsurpassed. I must raid my copper jar sometime soon.
Might as well change the thread title!
