Farewell Mike Waterson

Farewell Mike Waterson

Mike Waterson passed away in the small hours of Wednesday 22nd.
As well as his position as a member of the ground-breaking Watersons singing group from the '60s' onwards, he had a fine wit in songwriting. He is also credited with having given the song "The Lakes of Pontchertain" to Planxty.
Our sympathies go to his family and friends.

Re: Farewell Mike Waterson

Sad news.
Quite a character. I recall having an extended conversation with him concerning mutton pies.

Re: Farewell Mike Waterson

All the Watersons had such distinctive voices, you could immediately hear them in a large group of singers.
We Norma a speedy recovery and look forward to hearing her soon.
