I remember seeing a picture of a similar Paolo Soprani (Flowery Grill) in a catalogue dated 1975 so your box is from the 1970s, In the eighties Paolo Soprani was made under licence by Dino Baffeti, they kept the flowery grill but the name on the box 'Paolo Soprani' was changed to an Italic version. The box is tuned in D/D#. That tuning wasn't very popular and I've met very few box players who played that system. Consequently I'd imagine that a possible purchaser would buy it with a view to changing the tuning to C#/D or B/C and that could take some value of the instrument. Incidentally the action on the Paolo Soprani boxes from the sixties was way ahead of those from the Seventies and Eighties, that is one of the reasons why those boxes from the sixties are more sought after. As to value, assuming that it's in good nick, it's a genuine well made box from a good era. The tuning may put some people off but if it was B/C or C#/D I'd be starting at about 1500 euro. Supply and demand I'm afraid. Hope this helps.

Paolo Soprani D/D#
Hi everybody,
I just got my hands on a red Paolo Soprani D/D# box. Does anyone have any estimates on it's rarity / possible value?
I have no idea how old it is, it looks like this:

(not sure if the link works, sorry)
Two couplars, buttons are sort of dark grey. Could it be the "Elite I"...?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers, Matti.
