This tune is not any of the ones listed as Charlie Lennon's on this site. Does anyone know of other recordings of this particular tune? And is it normally played in G as Kevin does on his first CD?
Kevin Griffin doesn't play a Charlie Lennon reel. It's a hornpipe and it's actual title is "Planxty Joe Burke". I've not heard it played very often at all but any time I have, it's always been in G.
(It's described as 'Dmixolydian' on here even though it's clearly in G. That would explain why I couldn't find it. I don't know which backwater of my brain the 'reel' in the thread title came from.)
