Hey, I just got one, it's wicked :-D

Here's his website, to order one, you just need to e-mail him: http://www.colingoldie.de/

Might cost a pretty penny to ship to Australia, but I'm sure it'll be worth it!

They are good whistles, of course, but beware, they are way way too bloody loud for a session. Expect to loose friends if this is your purpose for it.

And remember, of course, that Michael Gill's opinion is, by definition, Fact. And that he is a Prophet whose words become Truth by dint of him saying them.

Therefore, You Will Lose Friends, zoukboy. There's no getting out of it now.

...of course, the fact is that Colin is an extremely talented and experienced whistle maker and player, and is able to make many different types of whistles, loud, quiet, breathy, whatever, you name it. He will make you one to whatever playing specifications you want.

My bad. Oz whistles are more expensive;

I have a Generation and a Goldie, and you can see (or rather, hear) here that the Goldie isn't actually much louder at all: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aJ5i9Kle15M

Re: Wanted to buy..an Overton/Goldie High D..

Blimey, that's amazing Joe, I want both of those whistles. They both, according to your marvelously uncompressed video that is, appear to even have an even volume range from the bottom note right up to the top B.

Re: Wanted to buy..an Overton/Goldie High D..

Thanks for the opinions all....
Yep,the postage is a crusher...35 euros ($47.00 Aussie) for a Goldie to be sent here.. so often the postage negates a good bargain :-( ...
Thanks to you as well Joe...great to hear the difference in the two..
I don't suppose the volume is much of an issue as I'm not a 'session goer' .. Here in Rural Aussie,the monthly session is about 150klms round trip away...so most of my playing is done at home with a few friends ( hope I dont lose 'em Llig !)..
So now......a dilemma for zoukboy ! .. two session.org members have written to me with Whistles for sale/swap....
never rains it pours dunnit !
