Oscar music- you can compete on the guitar in the Fleadh (my sister has done so in the past as well as this year) however, there is not a specific guitar competition. You can play tunes on your guitar and enter the miscellaneous category which is for instruments without their own specific competition. The guitar is a common choice in that category along with more exotic instruments like the hammered dulcimer. If you want to show off your accompanying prowess then the accompaniment competition is the right one. You tend to just get guitars and pianos in that, but you will need a musician who will play the tune for you to accompany in the competition.

Can't be done online as far as I know. You should be able to get an entry form from your local Comhaltas branch.
