Looks good, Charlie. Nice to see that you are learning a selection of tunes that are not just from the 'hit parade' of session repertoire. Keep learning the tunes you love.
Hi charliechamo, we recently got our site up and running so we have a lot of empathy for you with the work that you have to put into it. Everyone at the session.org was a great help to us regarding our website with no exceptions so you're in good company! Your site looks sharp and modern and easy to navigate. We think that you are doing a great job and wish you the best of luck with it.
Very clean so far, a very good job; it will be interesting to see how this scales as you add more information.
The "Complete" List of 5 reels made me laugh, although I suppose it make the job of learning them easier
I would personally like to see some notation along with the tunes, preferably something of better quality than those here on thesession.org. Audio/Video clips for the would also be great.
houlberg, do you mean smth like having a list of all the tunes on the website in the menu on the right instead of the "favourite reels" or anyhting like that ?
If you had a link to some ABC resources like ABC Explorer and such then you wouldn't need to post notation. You could have a link up top that says, "looking for notation..."
Also, the navigation menu isn't the same on every page. If I enter a category of jigs under tunes and then select "the coming of spring" then I see all four jigs there. However, if I select "The Kilmovee" then the list of four jigs is reduced to just two. The same happens under Reels. Try selecting "Old Pinch of Snuff" and the reels are reduced to just one.
I think it is a good idea to post notation and MIDI as well as the ABC, because all ABC software has bugs that will prevent anything but the most basic tunes from reliably displaying or playing as the author intended. Better the author gets to sort it out first so the readers don't have to.
Nice Graphics. You don't say if you are going to fully develop and maintain the site?
We stayed at the Daly B and B. Very professionally run. Enjoyed it. But we were the only guests who spoke english though. The rest were German and Japanese. More of a very nice stop over point. Not quite the intimicy we were looking for though. But we found a nice place in Cashel that filled that bill and stayed there.
kuec's comment is a good one. Just be sure to put one in that allows corrections to submitted tunes. That is the one tweak that this site's tune section could use.
Doolin and the Shannon area are reqlly wonderful areas.

Na bother Cherloch, I just fed it into my address line the old fashioned way and it got me there soon enough. All the best with the site.

Re: New Website - Suggestions, comments
Also, when you put ABC on the web, start each tune with an X: line or most software won't know what to do with it.
Nice un-fussy design.

Allright thanks Jack.
Btw, what does that "X" stand for ?

Re: New Website - Suggestions, comments
X:1 "the index field"

Re: New Website - Suggestions, comments
@charliechamo
"X:" allows you to have multiple tunes in one abc file.
X:1
(abc for tune #1)
X:2
(abc for tune #2)
X:3
(abc for tune #3)
etc.
It's a mandatory header ...
As Jack C rightly says, if you omit this header, most software designed to read and act upon the code won't work.
Other "mandatory" abc headers are:
T: (Title)
L: (Default note length)
M: (Metre or time signature)
K: (Key)

A Musicians tab may also be appropriate?

Re: New Website - Suggestions, comments
Nice, but it would be more nice not having to click on "Tunes" again in order to go to the list, from a particular tune

Using this logic, given that the site already has a link to http://www.thesession.org, you wouldn't need to post the ABC's either.
