I am not implying anything, I am stating a fact, Noel Hill was an excellent player when he was14.
If you want to read something into that statement, and draw all sorts of implications that are not intended, that's not my problem.
I have no idea who you are, but you seem to be under the
misapprehension that I am Andy Pandy.
b.d.a.t.b: Sometimes on this forum I have felt that some posters have mistaken me for 'Little Weed', 'Uncle Bulgaria' & 'Zippie', because I like you, have used a turn of phrase and blah! blah! blah!
At that time he also had a really excellent haircut! As does the older teenage kid...anyway...
I'm sure at that time, his haircut was very excellent (and groovy!). By saying this only 'Zebedee' would think I was implying Mr Hill's coifure these days was, as our Dutch friends say, 'Schijt'.
It really feckon annoys me that on this forum it seems to be OK to read something in the grammar of someone's post that while technically and grammatically could be true, it is so feckin obvious that that was not was was intended.
Life here would be so much better if people made an effort to read peoples' intentions, rather than their inaccurate grammar.
I know a tune that we call Last House in Connaught, which on this website is called Farewell to Connaught. Anyone else call it by the former name?
Regarding Mr. Hill, his playing is outstanding for a youngster, or even someone twice or three times his age for that matter. It seems a bit less 'notey' than the way he plays now, although that is simply an observation, not a statement of preference.
unbelievable to see him playing so young! no wonder he was making classic albums by the time he was 19... so i have a few years to go until i'm twice his age... any bets on whether or not i'll catch up i'm betting no....
Noel Hill aged 14!
Noel Hill aged 14!
Just found this of Noel when he was 14 playing two reels:

Re: Noel Hill aged 14!
Great clip! Thanks.
Is dogs among the bushes seriously suggesting that Noel Hill is no longer 'an excellent player'?

Re: Noel Hill aged 14!

Re: Noel Hill aged 14!
Bushes, you wrote 'At that time he was an excellent player' implying that you don't think he's an excellent player nowadays.

I agree with Al's observation. I prefer it less notey.
