Sean Healey RIP

Sean Healey RIP

The Peak District town of Buxton mourns the dreadful loss of the PhantomPhiddler, Sean Healey, AKA Sean Appleby-Simpkin.

Sean's funeral, and arguably the greatest session to ever take place in Derbyshire (or, conceivably, mainland Britain) is due to be held at the Great Rocks Social Club (CIU Affilated), Peak Dale, Derbyshire SK17 8AJ on Wednesday, March 23rd. A Humanist service will take place from 12.15 until 1.15 in the club, followed by a 1.30 departure for Glossop cemetery. When the burial has taken place, everyone will go back to Great Rocks Club for a traditional wake.

Many instruments are required to bid a very fond farewell and 'Till we meet again' to a wonderful fiddle player, an altruistic and generous human being, and a man whose like will never be seen again.

God - or whoever else might be in charge- bless you, Sean; many people will miss you.

Re: Sean Healey RIP

Sorry to hear this sad news. Sean was the man who started me on the fiddle many years ago. In his words " Its hard to be nice if you were brought up in Moss Side" Well he made it with flying colours. A lovely man who will be missed by many. God (if any) Bless him.

Re: Sean Healey RIP

A fine fiddler and a great encourager of of other musicians. It's hard to think there'll never be that feeling of "Sean's turned up, now for a great session" ever again. Happy memories of The Britannia, George, Harrington and last time in the Waters Green Tavern.

Indeed Sean, you will be missed by many.
