Scottish players in West Yorkshire?

Scottish players in West Yorkshire?

Are there any Scottish (or scottish music-minded) players in West Yorkshire (ideally Hudd but anywhere convenient really) that fancy a tune or maybe starting a session somewhere? Most of the sessions I have come across are pretty much wall to wall Irish so it would be nice to get some Scottish tunes in...

If you keep migrating South at this rate, you'll be able to join me in Essex before too long ;-)

Sorry, can't be of more help...

Re: Scottish players in West Yorkshire?

We've got session in the Huntsman at Thurlstone Barnsley - not to far from Huddersfield on thursday. I know that the lads play some shetland reels - if that's any help.

Re: Scottish players in West Yorkshire?

I may be one of the 'wall to wall Irish' perpetrators if you mean the Thursday session in Huddersfield. However I am partial to Scottish and Shetland tunes too and would happily join you if you were to kick some off at the Grove session and I am sure others would too. Assuming I know them that is. I have one or two Scott Skinner & Ronnie Cooper reels but steer clear of the hard stuff like Strathpeys.

If you want to name a few tunes I can tell you whether you are likely to get accompanied!
