Just thought the use of whistle, mandolin, and concertina blended really nicely here It only gets better as the video progresses, and the change into the jig is just magic!
Lovely, this reminds me on a post, Playing Simple by Mariajef,
Put on here a short time ago.. and a lovely example of how taking it easy an Playing Simple,,,

@Jlocky are you the Josh O' Loughlin on the Mandolin ? Nothing like blowing you're own Mandolin Anyway I've seen yourself and Francis on other videos on yourtube + custy's site, There's something very special about the Clare approach to ITM, it's kind of hypnotic, simple and perfect..
It's great stuff... I think this video is also right up there as well http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rUj33lE3wvY&feature=related
Tuning a mandolin is a piece of p*ss, provided you don't forget to do it every two minutes. Or buy one that costs a grand and a half. Anyway, you and I have heard worse, Michael. I thought it was a job well done.
Nice instrumentation

Re: Nice instrumentation
Applause!
Great stuff, and from youngsters, too. I wish I had a crystal ball to see what their future holds, with a bit of work and polish.
Glad you posted that.
Keep it up, "kids"!

It's not rocket science to tune a mandolin

Re: Nice instrumentation
Tuning issues. There's a lot of it around, many recordings suffer to one degree or another. Those that feature mandolin suffer more than most.

Re: Nice instrumentation
I quite enjoyed it, and the joy of the playing shone through. Like Jim says, a perfect example of playing simply but well.
