Anyone interested in coming to Les Alpes de Haute Provence in the sunny south of France to teach beginner concertina for a week or two? Pick-up at airport, full room and board, lesson each day then you're free to be a tourist.
Alternatively, any concertina teachers out there interested in teaching over the internet? If so, we would love to hear from you. The Alps are wonderful but there's an awful shortage of concertina players here!
I'd be interested. I teach Anglo, and am a long-time student of Noel Hill. I can teach other fingering systems as well. I make charts and diagrams for my student as they need them, and can teach by ear, music, ABC notation, or any system of notation you are used to.
I can get a video of me playing a duet up on YouTube in a day or two. I have some final editing to do on it.
Thanks for all the interest folks. Silver Spear - The pipes? My long personal struggle with the fiddle wouldn't permit such a welcome deviation. Pete - Which system? Anglo. Ormepipes? I have a didgeridoo but haven't tried it out in the village yet. Come and visit us - the locals would love the ormepipes! Daiv I watched your video on U-Tube. Very impressed. I'll drop you an email. Any chance you could bring that fiddler with you? I am desperate for fiddle lessons myself. Meanwhile, Laurence has found a very good concertina teacher who has returned to France (we thought she'd left) and will be organising lessons with her. However, it would still be great to have a visiting player(s) for the craic. We might get a session going in the village. We might even start a trad colony and one day rule the world! Matty
