I have to prepare a list for my Junior Cycle Level 3 and was wondering what tunes are good for performance. In JC3 you have to play one air, one hornpipe, one reel, and a choice between a slip jig, double jig, single jig or a slide. I am OK with the air and choice it is the hornpipe and reel. For people who have experience in the exams would you happen to know what level of difficulty is expected?? And some examples like the relatively easy harvest home or the more difficult Chief O'Neill's Favourite??
Thanks
Here is the list for hornpipes for junior level 3
Harvest Home , Chief O Neill's,Friendly Visit,Home Ruler, Plains of Boyle,KittysWedding, Fishers, Cronins, Boys of Bluehill,Off To California, Alexanders,Derry,PaddyOBriens are some.
Reels.
DrowsyMag,MorningStar,Tarbolton, MountainRoad, Wise Maid, SwallowsTail,BankOfIreland, SligoMaid,Templehouse,Humours of Tulla,HeatherBreeze, Red Haired Lass,Skylark,First House in Connaught are some
Can someone explain the CCE exam system? Is it only available in specific countries? Cost? Levels etc?
Might be something to aspire to as a way to push us along our whistling journey.

Re: CCE Exams
What the main objective in doing these exams ?
does it qualify you do something afterwards, or just a mechanism for measuring progress ?

Re: CCE Exams
I think you can do a TTCT afterwards which would make you a certified teacher but I'm not sure?
