This is what he's got so far. He emailed it to me and I said 'I know just who to ask for more."
O The Belly Full Of Stitches
The Bag Of Pills
Banish Misfortune (no need to change that)
Not Far From Home
The Foggy Day
Give Me Your Wallet
The Last Painkiller
The Merry Surgeon
The Rights Of Patients
The Scar Above The Garter
Black, Blue and Green
The Gown and Apron
The I.V. Leaf
Pull the Knife and Stick it in Again
The Roving Blade
Doctor Gilbert's
and more appropriately Jerry Holland's
Helping hands
The poor dude, he's a fluter with a hernia. Anyone else possibly have this? Is this a common thing with you windy types? Y'all just blowing too hard or what?
No Ian, doubtful. 15 percent of the male population gets them. My doc said "You're just lucky." I guess he means lucky I don't have to take out the trash for a few weeks.
I liked the Hips Are Sailing and Full Rigged Hips anyway!
And I.V Leaf! Ha!
By the way, when I went to the surgeon for the evaluation, he said he was learning to play the violin. Taking lessons from someone with the Naples Symphony. He said he liked Irish music so I invited him to a session, hoping to save him from the dark side.
The Silver Scalpel
Haste to the Medicine Chest
That is all I can think of for now, but hope you get well soon!
With a friend like SWFL, it is good that laughing doesn't hurt!
there's a cape breton tune called "the tripper" which turns out, if you look at the gaelic, to be something on the order of, "i am lame and i can't keep up".
i have really loved these tune suggestions, thanks you all.
Best of luck cjp, but no worries, you'll be right as rain in no time. The worst part of surgery is the lead up, the easy part is after. This kind of thing is routine, you've nothing to worry about.
I saw the tea making machine episode, but, believe me, nothing beats a teapot. When I was young, I thought a Teasmade was the height of sophistication, but I prefer to get out of bed for my first cup of tea. Now there's a tune for you......
Here's a picture of that 'height of sophistication' - http://www.teawaker.com/D28.htm. Who'd have thought there'd be a website devoted to automatic teamakers-cum-alarm clocks from the past?

If his surgery involves major joint replacement, there's always, the Hips are Ailing, the Full-Rigged Hip, and the New Hips are Ailing.

Indeed. When he, his wife, the guitar player and I get together there's a fair chance that someone will have Guinness come out their nose.
Thanks for the wishes.

Re: Working Up a Few Sets for After Surgery
What about 'When sick is it tea you want?' as a nice cup of tea will solve all problems.
However, North American tea isn't up to our standards.......tea bag in a mug, what's wrong with a tea pot? I must be turning into a grumpy old woman.

minijackpot, you do sound a bit like Mrs. Doyle in the Father Ted Christmas show with the Tea Making Machine.
