My nine year old boy has 3 jigs down pretty well on his fiddle. We'll be giving a private Christmas concert to the grandmas tonight. I don't know who will be more proud - me or the grannies LOL!
We are short an organist in our local church, so I too will be helping out our local choir with the carols selection at the midnight service. Bit tempted to send the congregation on their way with a blast of Christmas Eve. Happy Christmas to all our readers.

We played for set dancers for hours and hours last night. Good fun--when they danced the Fairie Reel, we started them out on God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman. Puzzled looks. Launched straight from there into Morning Dew and they took off with a big whoop.
The thing to do, Will, is to start them off on something they expect, and then trick them into carrying on dancing to a carol or something, or, one of my particular favourites, "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" in a reel tempo and rhythm.
Oh don't I wish?! A few tunes would be just what the doctor ordered. But afraid I'm working the night shift. So Happy Christmas to all of you and more power to your elbow those of you playing tonight.
To all I've insulted, peeved, aggravated and been downright rude to over the last year....have a good one. I'll continue with my illogical socialist rantings sometime soon. Enjoy whatever you get up to... I'm off to bed now....to give the significant other her pressie!

No secular tunes tonight, but our church service will be preceeded by 15 minutes of carols played on fiddle, flute, whistle, accordion and guitar!
