It's not a hard case so I wouldn't check it in but they'd have to pry the pipes out of my cold dead fingers to get me to check them in no matter what case I had. That one is small enough that you shouldn't have any bother, however, but it should fit a full set (in theory...I have a half set). It's about the size and shape of a fiddle case.
I've tried a few cases and this one is my favourite by far.
I've a Fishpond case and know it holds a 3/4 set by only removing the bass drone slide, and I love it. I'm not sure how it would handle the bass reg, though.
Gun cases are also an option, but you have to do more break-down of the set.
Yay for Fishpond cases! I don't know if one can actually buy them in the UK, though. At least I couldn't find anyone that sells them here. My parents bought mine from a fishing shop in Colorado and sent it to me.
I got a very nice case from Tim Britton (check his web site). They're not made by him, but they are mahagony and pretty well made, and don't look at all like a gun case which could be important if you're going to be flying with them! They come in various sizes (half - 3/4 - full set). I agree with an earlier post -- I wouldn't be too happy about actually having my pipes put in the hold of an airplane, in any type of case! But this case is pretty portable -- should fit nicely on an overhead or under your seat.

Hiscox Liteflite are very strong and not too expensive. Not sure if they do one for the pipes though.

You could try out http://www.caltoncases.com/. I have a few of them and seen even more, and I think he might be able to help you out with a case!
Cheers!

Re: case for uilleann pipe
I know someone ( captain Bpart ) who uses a soft saxaphone case to take on the plane with his pipes inside.
